Jobing Description

Education: A Bachelors degree in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, or another behavioral science. Experience: At least two years of post-bachelor experience working with children and their families, with one year of that experience involving work with abused and neglected children. Two years clerical and customer service experience. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an appreciation of, and the ability to work with, diverse populations. Commitment to ethical standards and excellence. Primary responsibilities include: Participate in 24 hour on-call rotation, including weekends, to take referrals, assess for immediate service needs, and provide coordination of services, crisis intervention and assistance with medical examinations of children. Completes the Admission/Enrollment information in Avatar including demographics, financial eligibility and verification, and assigning of guarantors. Demonstrates knowledge about admission and exclusion criteria for the various Suncoast Center programs. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of community resources in order to refer individuals who do not meet criteria for admission to other appropriate service providers in the community. Review Child Abuse Reports for criteria for mandatory referral and facilitate review by medical staff. Collect data and maintain records and statistics regarding abuse reports reviewed, referrals taken by the team, consults and cases received by the team. Coordinate communication between CPT and those agencies involved in the child protection or criminal justice systems as allowed by statutes and in compliance with confidentiality limitations. Must be able to complete a level II background screening and pre-employment drug test in compliance with Florida Law.
